Okay, this is huge, but I have a starting point for you. Check
/usr/X11R6/include and /usr/local/include. Look for GNOME-related
directories _without_ version numbers. For example, look for a
libgnomevfs directory. If you find one, delete it.

On a pure GNOME 2.0 machine, you should see the following in
/usr/X11R6/include (more or less):

DPS/ gdk_imlib_private.h libgda/ mtm/
GL/ gdk_imlib_types.h libgda-report/ =20
panel-2.0/
Imlib.h gdkcardimage/ libglade-2.0/ =20
pango-1.0/
Imlib_private.h gnome-1.0/ libgnome-2.0/ rep.h
Imlib_types.h gnome-desktop-2.0/ libgnomecanvas-2.0/ =20
rep_lisp.h
X11/ gnome-vfs-2.0/ libgnomedb/ =20
rep_regexp.h
bitmaps/ gnome-vfs-module-2.0/ libgnomeprint-2.0/ =20
rep_subrs.h
cddb-slave2/ gnome-window-settings-2.0/ libgnomeprintui-2.0/ rgb.h
eel-2/ gnomesupport.h libgnomeui-2.0/ =20
site.h
freetype2/ gtk-2.0/ libnautilus/ =20
xf86Optrec.h
gail-1.0/ gtk12/ librsvg-2/ =20
xf86Parser.h
gconf/ gtkhtml-2.0/ libwnck-1.0/
gdk_imlib.h libbonoboui-2.0/ libzvt-2.0/

Look for things that might be out of place. If you have any questions,
let us know.
