 |it, if you have a CDRW media (20$ each) you should be able to "blank"

I've also had success with the blank option of cdrecord (on CAM/3.0R):

  cdrecord dev=0,0,0 speed=2 blank=all    (TIME =  35:30.74)
  cdrecord dev=0,0,0 speed=2 blank=fast   (TIME =  ~5:00)
