Looks like a victim of the freetype2/XFree86 vs. freetype2/port mess.
I planned on looking at this post GNOME 1.4 so I'll use this one
as a convenient reminder.  BTW, nautilus doesn't do anything useful
under FreeBSD yet, so it's no great loss.
