While preparing to install the mentioned patch, I reached a status where: _ issuing mksnap_ffs always locks the machine; _ unmounting the filessytem (the one I would run mksnap_ffs on) also causes= a deadlock (I guess it's the same deadlock, but I didn't analyze it); _ shutting down, the machine cannot write all buffers and after reboot all = the filesystem will require fsck; _ the fsck on said filesystem will be problematic (hangs or panics).
