The sound unit may change between 7.1 and 7.2. You can try to change
the sysctl hw.snd.default_unit

If it still doesn't work put a verbose boot dmesg of snd_hda and pcm
somewhere (see the man page of snd_hda) and ask on the
freebsd-multimedia@ mailing list.
