Hi all. Does anyone know if there is a special trick to setting the mysql root user's password after installing mysql323-server on FreeBSD? I've done like the manuals say (mysqladmin -uroot password xyz), but all I get is: mysqladmin: connect to server at 'localhost' failed error: 'Access denied for user: 'root@localhost' (Using password: NO)' I don't remember any passwords being set during the installation.... Regards, Patrick.
