If you can connect ttl cable to uart port then you can just type necessary
uboot commands to boot FreeBSD kernel.
As for ubldr I have never tried to use it in Cubieboard so can't comment.
http://kernelnomicon.org/?p=298 has mentioned the scripts that can be used
to create bootable SD card in FreeBSD.
Then you can try to make necessary files like boot.src or uEnv.txt etc.
Maybe you can just try to use those files from gonzo@'s freefall dir at
http://people.freebsd.org/~gonzo/arm/hackberry/.
