   Would that not cause problems?

	[A-Z]* )
		# ... matches "ZOUNDS " but not "ZOUNDS" ?
	;;

   I'd think it might have trouble with that whitespace.

   And to quote sh(1)'s man page:

     The syntax of the case command is

           case word in
           pattern) list ;;
           esac
