Based on past experience I think I'll just snarf a current floppy set and install from the net over my old system. As it's a development system it's not a biggie - but it is annoying. I use it as my very fast X terminal :-) In short - no matter how much push is on to do the elf conversion - advance at your own risk - I personally don't sweat my toy SMP system being down - no biggie - it's an acceptable risk for experimentation - but if you have any intent that your system will be available - well you are taking big risks at present. BTW - mergemaster really caused fun here.
