A good idea, but the NetBSD way of doing is still better IMO.
NetBSD pkgsrc start scripts depend on foo_enable="YES" in /etc/rc.conf
just as base services.
On FreeBSD a small number of ports already do.

I think softlinks are better to keep scripts up to date.
