Yes, some people would like to not require an Apache server installed
just to test out their scripts.

It's just like Perl anyway.

Really?  That wasn't the impression I got, but if that is the case, you
should speak to the maintainer (roam@FreeBSD.org).  I only added it with
the understanding that it was not a replacement for mod_php[34] (and
thus not subject to repocopy rules as dictated by Satoshi).
