   Can you temporarily replace your local mailer?

   you% cd /where/ever
   you% mv localmailer localmailer.bin

   Then use something like this in its place:

   #!/bin/sh
   /usr/bin/truss -f -o /tmp/local$$ /where/ever/localmailer.bin ${1+"$@"}
   exit 0
