I didn't install it from scratch, just attached an already configured disk. The built-in SCSI and the EISA Ethernet card are working at somewhat decent speeds (2.9 megabytes/s to disk; 300 kilobytes/s receiving and 967 kilobytes/s transmitting over the LAN).
