Using it again, I'm not having the problems I had before, but the trace does not show any activity either. The issue before was that getting rss messages would lock up the browser or make it segfault. There was a domain that would not resolve at that time because the server for the feed was down for several days. When I stopped running nscd there were no more segfaults or lockups.
