Dear all,

after upgrading a couple of virtual servers from 13.2p11 to 13.3p1 we
experienced many kernel panic situations with automatics reboots and
filesystem inconsistencies on those systems. The machines run on
vSphere/ESX 8.0 and use the paravirtual SCSI controller pvscsi for mass
storage.

When using UFS with soft updates journaling the kernel panics after som
e amount of time with:

kernel: panic: handle_disk_io_initiation: Unexpected type jnewblk

Disabling soft updates journaling is a workaround but not what we want
in ususal operation. With 13.2, the machines run absolutely stable.

Does anybody see similar problems? Or are there any ideas?

Best regards
Konrad
