For some reason, reads from the EC time out on some systems. There's no
discernable common cause but some possible causes include heavy load
(Giant being held too long? ithread taking too long to run?), boot time
setup of the EC GPE, or buggy EC that fails at various times.

Try updating your BIOS and or EC flash. The new acpi import I'm working
on may help (modifies GPE initialization). If it doesn't happen at
runtime, don't worry about it.
