Ah, I simply mixed up "device" (/dev/fd0) with "drive" (the virtual a:
drive notation).

There isn't any mount binary that supports long filenames in _MS_ DOS?

By the way, I just did `minfo a:` on both a working floppy and that one
that crashes my system; Which line of information might give me the best
clues as to the problem with the "bad disk?"  There is a line that says
"fats: 2" - that sends up a red flag, no?
