Ok, my first attempt at getting a UPS going is not going (well). I have an
APC SmartUPS 1000, a legit (APC) cable, and upsd 2.0.1.6.1 (neat numbering
scheme there). I've got a copy of the generic ups.conf.120v copied as
/etc/ups.conf and only modified the /dev/cuaa? part. upsd loads fine, no
errors, and sits there. But it doesn't do anything. I'm not sure which
serial port is which on this system so I tried setting to both cuaa0 and
cuaa1 with both behaving the same way. Shouldn't upsd be giving me an
error if it CAN'T see the ups? Any advice? Upsd seems to be a bit of a
pain in the butt and there's a severe lack of documentation on it.

Using FreeBSD 2.2.2 with the patch to stable (yeah, this computer is
destined to be upgraded).

Thanks in advance :)
