This equine expired years ago....

However, for those poeple that want to change the behavior, it is
relatively straight forward to hack the keymaps in question.  I do
this to swap ctrl and caps lock and make the <- key generate DEL (in X
I do this via translations for xterm, since motif would delete forward
character :-(.

I am happy with the status quo in FreeBSD.  My dot files cope with it
quite well and any push for a change in this area will never happen.

P.S.  Would there be support for a new, non-default keymap, much like
the dvorak, which people can use in their rc.conf files?
