Hello.

Today I did the last cvsupdate on our systems and made a buildworld and installworld.
We are running FreeBSD 4.4-STABLE on serveral server boxes.

On of our boxes, a AMD K7 850 with a LSI Logic 21040 Ultra 160 SCSI controller and
Adaptec 2940UW has a TEAC CD-R55S cd burner.

I installed today cdrtools and mkisofs from the ports due some problems with a
freshly burned iso image. But after this update there is still a problem!

The phenomenon is that I can not read the burned CD, neither on UNIX machines nor
PC/Windows clients. My homebrewed ios images are made by mkisofs -R -o image.name /path,
they are all broken as described above. I thought first mkisofs could be broken,
so I gathered a FreeBSD 4.4-RELEASE Install-ISO-Image from ftp.freebsd.org which
I burned several days ago sucessfully the same way on the same machine and used
the made CD for several installations. But this time this image, or better: the
made CD is also a disc of waste - because it's damaged.

I watched the updates within the last days and saw several updates within the CAM system.
Maybe this is an unrevealed error/bug for now so I would like to ask whether others
have the same problems.

As I said: I recently cvsupdated the software and made world today the last time
(but broken CDs were burned the last four days also, but I got response from those
who tried them out today and tried to figure out whether the problem is of mine or
of theirs).

Can anyone responsible look for this?

Today I wrote out the same FreeBSD ISO image on a DELL Precision 340 Workstation
with a ATAPI burner and 'burncd' successfully. The problem seems to be a target on all
of our SCSI machines ...

Thanks a lot in advanece,

Oliver
