I'm not sure when this problem crept into vlc; I use it fairly often but I = only have 2 or three .mkv files. When I run vlc on the command line and pass it a .mkv file I get the follow= ing output: [0000000800905060] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
