This didn't really belong on the FreeBSD-ports list, but since you
asked it there I'll answer it there too.

If you put "-P m" on the cvsup command line, any general-purpose TCP
proxy should work fine.  There's a specific example in question 18
of the CVSup FAQ:

    http://www.polstra.com/projects/freeware/CVSup/

You can also use ssh port forwarding as described in cvsup(1).
