Subject: multiuser screen broken in freebsd 5.0-release?

I recently setup a new system under Freebsd 5.0.

I use screen multiuser for some applications and have made no change
other than the upgrade.

For some reason, I am unable to attach to these multiuser sessions. :-(

Screen gives me the error:

Attach attempt with bad pid(498)!

The only thing I could see that might cause this is screen not being
setuid root, but it is! In addition,
the file sizes of the binary are exactly the same as they were under
4.7-RELEASE. Same version,
of course too. (shrug)
