I too hope this.  While there may be flaws, in my opinion, with some
of the bus_space sutff, it is better to have one common way to do
this, rather than multiple, slightly incompatible ways.  If I were
doing the bus stuff (which I think I might be), then I'd want to
diverge only where it is impossible to get something done with that
model.
