I have used that link as reference and it works. I can for sure say that
it does not auth any arbitrary user.
However, I would be so happy if I could find a way for it to do pam auth,
as in use the passwd file.
I know it can use an external auth, but not being a programmer....
With programmers all things are possible ;)

Well, I use MPD on 4.8-STABLE and it's working fine.
