That obviuosly depends on CPU & speed. I get the following times

386DX/25	1.580 ms
486dx2/66	0.560 ms
P5/133		0.244 ms

also, has the original poster tried the obvious, i.e. cache enabled,
turbo switch in high speed position, etc ?
