=> HOLLYWOOD DEADLINE IS MIDNIGHT TONIGHT

After months of fearing the inevitable, The Studios and
Writers Guild of America, Inc. are facing a massive strike
at 12:01am TONIGHT if the two sides cannot reach a new
agreement. At 12:01am PST, the current contract that governs
salaries and working conditions for film and television
writers expires.

It appears that one of the main issues at the crux of the
argument is residual income collected by writers when a
project is released on DVD, cable etc.

With the California economy seriously threatened by this
and the mind-numbing programming that will result, we
can only hope for the best.
