Hi All,

I ran into a problem installing FreeBSD 5.2.1-STABLE on an old PC
(Am5x86, 133MHz, 40M RAM, 700M HDD).
After I finish the install and reboot the PC under FreeBSD it fails to
load the kernel. Here's what is on the screen (manually copied):

Loading /boot/defaults/loader.conf
/boot/kernel/kernel text=0x45d64c -
elf32_loadexec: archsw.readin failed
/boot/kernel/kernel text=0x45d64c -
elf32_loadexec: archsw.readin failed
/boot/kernel/kernel text=0x45d64c -
elf32_loadexec: archsw.readin failed
Unable to find a kernel!
|
Hit [Enter] to boot immediately, or any other key for command prompt.
Booting [/boot/kernel/kernel] ...
/boot/kernel/kernel text=0x45d64c -
elf32_loadexec: archsw.readin failed
can't load 'kernel'

I successfully installed the same system on several other modern PCs.
Can anyone assist me in solving this problem and making FreeBSD boot
up?
