Backing out renaming is not real fix for the problem you pointed out, because alpha also uses GENERIC. When you apply the kerninclude.sh script for alpha, you will have same problem. Only PC98 is different in the name of GENERIC kernel from other archs. Because of this, src/Makefile.inc1 had to have special hack.
