I double-checked the instructions that came with the drive and it looked like it was setup correctly as a master (there is no second HD at this point). However, after looking looking through the box the drive came in, and finding another data sheet, I saw a different set of jumper settings. I tried those, and fdisk now recognizes the correct drive size. I don't know much about hardware, but I'm at a loss to know why there would be two different sets of instructions for setting jumpers on one hard drive.
