  There were never any gated man pages written.  There should be some html
docs in the source tarball, that should be installed by the port.

  You might want to think about using zebra instead.  I'm been using gated
on various machines for 4 years, but support for gated has declined as it
is moved to a commercial product.  I'm putting zebra on all new machines.
