Hi Michael,

Since no one else has answered yet, I'd
like to make a suggestion: this looks
like FreeBSD or BIOS or
both is in some sort of old "compatibility"
mode.
 
I wonder if fooling around with the way your
BIOS sees your disk will help? 
 
(obviously - take note of your existing config
before you make changes).
