Already did that actually and have ran three cvsups so far since this started 
(thinking that it may have been a temporary issue in the ports tree).  There 
is a comment spit out initially about a saved preferences file:

Found saved configuration for python-2.4.1_1

But damned if I can find where that file actually is located.  Even after a 
make deinstall and make clean the above still comes up.

Any other ideas?
