Is /mnt a filesystem on its own or just a subdirectory of "/" ?

If the latter then it is expected as our dump(8) is not able to dump part
of a filesystem. It is a pity...

FYI the port of dump/restore made by Rémy Card for Linux is able to dump
partial filesystems...
