There is nothing to upgrade. They are totally different programs and 
one cannot be upgraded with other one.

There is no history to preserve since elm+ME and elm2.5 are different programs.

I don't care how you will name official elm, if just 'elm' it is OK from me.

Removing 'elm' was neccessary to not preserve false history hits for different 
program (which as I understand you want to copy over).
