The problem is, these "bootstrap" *upgrade packages really don't
contain anything besids extra bits that are required to use newer
ports.  But your system is so old that now even this package won't
help you.  Your only real solution at that point is to upgrade to
3.5-STABLE then to 4.2-STABLE.  That is, of course, if you really
need something from ports.

I recommend backing up your data before making the leap.  As I've
said before, the longer people wait, the harder it will be.  After
4.3-RELEASE goes out the door, I think the FreeBSD Project [1] will
stop supporting the 3.x-* branch entirely in ports.  I haven't run
3.x in ages on my own systems.

By the way, I really should nuke those old upgrade bits.  They don't
help anyone anymore, and only add to the confusion.
