I'm hopeful things are looking up on the licensing front, so I'm not
sure we need to express displeasure to them at the moment :).

No.  My fault, I got caught up in other projects and didn't get this done.
I think motiviation for this will be much higher once licensing is
finalised.

I believe HotSpot relies on native threads.  The 1.3.1 is reasonably close
to getting native threads, so work on HotSpot should start after that.
I'm not about to commit volunteers to a timeline though, sorry.
