sounds like the wrong protocol is being used... did you perhaps select the
"Microsoft Mouse" protocol?  The one that says "If you have a two-button
mouse, this is probobly the right one"?

If so, yep, you've got the wrong one.  :-)

Keep reading the list and you'll come across PS/2 (number 4 in xf86config I
think)
