The strip(1) program is a development tool. It so happens to be
installed from the binutils packages, which in RH 7.1 isn't part
of the minimal install.

The reverse is also true. Those short on bandwidth probably don't
want to have to download binutils just for strip(1). So, I guess
there's no right way, meaning that logically there's no wrong way
either :-)

In short: there will always be cases where installing a large port
just for a single (small) program is necessary. So be it. If people
don't like it, they can either install RPMs by hand or remove RPMs
after installing the port.
