I've got the same card in the box here and it also doesn't work.
The kernel recognizes it as:

pcm0: <Creative EMU10K1> port 0xd800-0xd81f irq 9 at device 9.0 on pci2

where the irq conflicts with the uhci usb controller (but that shouldn't
be an issue with pci, should it?)

When writing to the audio device, the kernel just prints:

pcm0: play interrupt timeout, channel dead
