A pre gcc 3.1 -current just compiles fine, but gives me the following
error on startup:

Gdk-ERROR **: BadLength (poly request too large or internal Xlib length erro
  serial 390 error_code 16 request_code 154 minor_code 20

After that it goes into an invinite loop and consumes CPU time with no
visible effect.
