You need to install cvsup, a package is available from:

    http://people.freebsd.org/~jdp/s1g/i386-nogui/cvsup-16.1e.tgz

Update your ports tree with:

    # cvsup -L2 -h cvsup10.freebsd.org /usr/share/examples/cvsup/ports-supfile

(you can change cvsup10 to some other number from 1-12) and you should
then be able to build XFree86-4.2.0.
