There is no compatibility exists between koi8-r and koi8-u. They are 
different standards. F.e. there is compatibility between Unicode and 
koi8-r.

I not say the reverse. Well, if you want: Cyrillic is NOT koi8-u. Cyrillic 
is NOT koi8-c too. Look at Unicode for full Cyrillic range.

It seems that port maintainer uninterested. He got every mail from this
discussion from very start. Moreover, I send few personal messages too.

P.S. I answer you mainly for others. It is very clear for me that you are
totally ignorant in l10n and i18n subjects and what standards are.
