I sense some (understandable) frustration here.  You're right in that
it's not likely to work, once a gzip package set is uploaded for
4-STABLE.  I wish you didn't have to go through that effort for nothing,
but we judged that to be the best alternative available to us.

Which is why we're going back to gzip.
