I use the adaptec 2410SA.  It doesn't use the SATA/ATA drivers, but 
rather the aac ones, and seems to work pretty well.  So far no 
problems.

I am using it in mirror RAID 1 mode, but it supports 0, 1, 5, 1+0, 
JBODs at least.
