That locally server and client version should match, in order to
guarantee 100% compatibility (iow: admins should never be locked out
in case of an unforseen interface breakage?). Or is it just a small
bug in the Makefile?

Anyway, running postgres8 now, thanks to the WANT_PGSQL_VER directive.
