It's even funkier, since you said an 8.0 system, it should be nfsv4. Rick Maklem may be interested in your findings, on either freebsd-fs or in lig= ht of the upcoming release on freebsd-current. This is also a nice dilemma: nfsv4 is still wet behind the ears, but v2 should be considered deprecated.
