this doesn't look like a fix to me, more like a workaround that may hide the
real bug, and bring some more annoying bug and a harder to figure out, the =
same
code should work the same when build with clang and g++.

I don't like to hide the bugs behind a workaround, I prefer the bug to rema=
in so
that we can work on it and just not forget about it.

Maybe I'm wrong, I'll let you convince me :)
