I had some ideas for an image back at the 3.0 release, but I seem
to be having some trouble getting an artistic friend of mine to
draw them up. (if I were to draw it, no one will have any clue
what it is!)

In addition to Jordan's request for images at the time, what got
me thinking was that I wanted something which 'worked better' for
multiple CPU configurations. An icon with one BSD daemon standing
around can be cute-ish, but when you have two or four of them just
standing there it looks more like they're just a group of loafers
loitering on a street corner...

So, I wanted something that implied 'harnessing power', and something
which would scale up to 'multiple' of whatever was being harnessed.

One idea was to have the BSD daemon in a sled, powered by something
like an Alaskan malamute. The sled could be carrying CD's, or maybe
it shouldn't be obvious what it's carrying. Multi-processor systems
(such as web sites) could just modify this to include more malamutes
(an alaskan malamute is any of a breed of powerful heavy-coated
deep-chested dogs of Alaskan origin with erect ears, heavily cushioned
feet, and plumy tail, used for pulling sleds).

The other idea was the BSD daemon on some kind of stage-coach, being
pulled by sea horses. I forget why I wanted seahorses over regular
horses. Basically I haven't thought about this one quite as much as
the malamute one.

I think one of these could work out pretty good, if I could just get
someone who was a bit faster at drawing than my friend seems to be.
(it's been, what, six months now?), and considerably better at drawing
than I am (unless you want some stick figures...).
