We use a lot of HP servers with various controllers under various
releases of FreeBSD.
So far, everything works. (G3,G4,G5 - usually DL380 or DL385)

The array rebuilds automatically, though, IIRC.
It's just needed if you want to add an additional logical disk because
you plugged in some additional drives.

The Px00 controllers are OK.
But for mass-storage, we're moving to Solaris + ZFS.
It works great as an NFS-server for FreeBSD.
